As a part of Codefest Tech Festival, Codeference is a one-day conference hosting international speakers, discussing topics related to tech, innovation, startups, growth hacking and leadership.

Alan is Past President of the Global Speakers Federation (6,000 accredited professional speakers worldwide) and director of MediaCoach.co.uk  He is also an author and journalist, and has been both a TV presenter and expert interviewee. He is also the only person in Europe with the highest professional accreditation in public speaking (FPSA, PSAE) and in public relations (MCIPR). His company, MediaCoach, provides coaching in broadcast and social media skills to CEOs, politicians, celebrities and communication professionals, as well as providing consultancy in reputation management.

Alban is the GM of Slice in Macedonia, born and raised in Chicago, but now lives and works in Ohrid. Back in 2014, having spent a large majority of his life in Chicago, USA he decided to come back to Macedonia. He believed that there was an opportunity in the Balkans to use the talent that others didn’t see. After working on a family business and in a number of different startups, he was presented with the opportunity to grow and expand Slice, which he did: from 50 employees to 300 in a little over a year.

Maris is former member of Startup Wise Guys team as COO and Management Board Member handling corporate governance, operations, financials, investments and legal side of portfolio management. Hands on involved with 6 acceleration programs for B2B SaaS startups in Estonia and also in Latvia. Negotiated and finalized 56 pre-seed investments, advised and signed off a great number of portfolio companies' follow-on investment documents.

Samuel Kennedy has worked with technology and startups for 15 years. In 2010, he joined Slice shortly after its founding in New York City. For seven and a half years, Sam served as Vice-President of Technology at Slice, where he worked as a software developer and technology leader. Having the history of working for years with amazing people in Macedonia, the concept of starting a small software development team there became a compelling opportunity, which is Sam's current focus.

Christian has been the program lead of Germany based Black Forest Accelerator. With his degree in Law he was responsible for investments and legal aspects related to incubated startups. He joined the iAccelerator program in Ahmedabad, India after an Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs stay at runtastic in Austria. He is co-founder of „Mobile Garden“, a design startup, that he presented on German TV Show „Höhle der Löwen“ together with his co-founder Akiko.

Gillian is serial entrepreneur, gender lens Venture Capital Fund manager and impact investor. A co-founded and built SEOMoz from inception to become the world's leading provider of marketing applications and metrics software and the global hub for digital marketers. She serves as COO of brettapproved – tripadvisor for travelers with disabilities and mobility challenges, and launched the Sybilla Masters Fund at the Microsoft Women in Cloud Summit with the goal of raising $100 Million USD to fund scalable companies with diverse founding teams leveraging the Cloud, machine learning, and AI.

Anne is International author, speaker, and counselor to multi-national internet brands on global digital marketing, she is a serial entrepreneur with decades of experience in online and offline brand launch, engagement, and public relations. She serves as president of Outlines Venture Group, advisor to the Sybilla Masters Fund, co-host of the weekly radio podcast, CEOcoach, and mentor at Ben Franklin Tech Partners in Philadelphia. Anne founded her company, Beyond Ink in 1997, taking Hearst Newspapers, Philips Lifeline, Dunkin Donuts and other household-name brands online.

Max is a graduated lawyer, he founded an online legal services company in Amsterdam in 2008. In 2011, he sold the business and moved to Bulgaria, where he was on the founding team of one of the biggest regional tech acceleration programs and funds. He is a startup advisor and angel investor, organizes the TRACTION Camp and Startup AddVenture series of events, connecting founders to skills and capital. In 2016, joined Cross Border Angels as Director for CEE and MENA, syndicating 1-2 monthly investments with over 70+ angels and investment firms. In 2017, joined a team of data entrepreneurs as a founding team member of a stealth-mode data startup based out of London.

Bits and bytes fascinated Mary-Jo ever since she got a Commodore 64, back in the 80’s. What followed in the next 25 years, was much, much more (digital) toys and the “investigation” of it. But this toy story doesn’t end by “a doll on a payroll”. It is therefore not surprisingly that Mary-Jo founded the Dutch think and do tank Internet of Toys where scientist, toys manufacturers and politicians meet and discuss the breaches within connected toys and also the lack of privacy and legislation loops within it. You’ll find out that her nickname ‘Mario’ appeals to the imagination because of her Nintendo “addiction”.

Born as an entrepreneur, Oliver started his first company at the age of 20 with no money by working out of his fathers garage. He's gone on to work as a founder, managing director and CEO since then. Ljuba is an entrepreneur, product manager, designer, and technologist who lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area. Ljuba was a co-founder of the successful startup Automatic, which created a device that plugs into any car and offers useful information and services on your smart phone. He had many roles there, including Head of Product and Design. He is currently traveling through the Balkans as part of the Swiss Entrepreneurship program, mentoring local startups and entrepreneurs.

What exactly is Codeference?

It is a one-day international conference, focusing on technology, innovation, marketing and startups. Codeference aims to bring some of the most successful professionals from the region and worldwide, who will be able to share experiences with the attendees and give advice on how to speed up the development of the region.

Who can attend?

Codeference is open for anyone at all, and there are no restrictions in the individuals who can attend. If you feel like investing in your own knowledge, expanding your professional network, and are open for a new experience, grab a ticket and see you there!
